Parle Biscuits has appointed George Kovoor as its first chief executive officer, with the appointment effective September 1. Kovoor, a seasoned consumer goods executive, brings extensive experience from his over three-decade tenure at PepsiCo, where he held various leadership roles across geographies. He also previously worked with Brooke Bond India.
This strategic leadership enhancement is crucial as Parle Biscuits, India's largest biscuits and confectionery maker, prepares for a $1 billion IPO. The company reported revenues of Rs 18,209.2 crore for FY25, showing a 7% year-on-year increase, though profits saw a decline. Parle has also been diversifying its product portfolio, expanding into categories like branded atta and frozen desserts.
Kovoor's leadership is expected to foster sustainable growth and enhance the company's capabilities. He previously founded Ask GeKo Advisors after his retirement from PepsiCo in March 2025. The promoter family, including Managing Director Ajay Chauhan and Chairman Vijay Chauhan, expressed optimism about working with Kovoor.
