Meeting note-taking tool Otter.ai announced on Tuesday that it has raised $320 million. The funding comes from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund (CVF), which provides capital without diluting equity. This capital will be strategically allocated to enhance enterprise growth, refine its go-to-market strategy, support international expansion, and drive further product innovation.
Previously, Otter.ai, in operation for nearly a decade, had accumulated $50 million in total funding. Last year, the company surpassed a significant milestone, achieving over $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). While the company has seen its user base grow to 40 million, it faces a competitive market with numerous well-funded rivals.
The company is actively exploring new frontiers in enterprise AI, focusing on voice data. Otter.ai is experimenting with features designed to provide insights before, during, and after meetings, including pre-briefing functionalities and a Live Assist feature for real-time questions. These innovations aim to transform meeting transcripts into actionable roadmaps for professionals.
