Two special weekly Express trains, numbered 06127 and 06128, are being operated by Southern Railway to manage the increased passenger traffic anticipated for the Onam festival. These services will run from August 21 to August 29, 2026, offering two trips in each direction between Chennai and Mangaluru.
Train No. 06127 will depart from Dr MGR Chennai Central on August 21 and 28, reaching Mangaluru Junction the following day. The return service, Train No. 06128, will depart from Mangaluru Junction on August 22 and 29, arriving back in Chennai the next day. Advance reservations for these "Trains on Demand" commenced on August 19, 2026, at 8 am.
The special trains will serve key stations across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, including Erode, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Kannur. This initiative provides passengers with more travel choices during the busy Onam period, enhancing connectivity along the Chennai-Mangaluru route.
