Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has announced its strongest-ever operational and financial performance for the fiscal year 2025-26. The state-run miner achieved a record mineral production totaling 44.82 million tonnes (MT), surpassing previous benchmarks.
This surge in output translated into the highest-ever revenue for OMC, clocking in at approximately Rs 25,300 crore. The company's performance was predominantly fueled by a remarkable 12.06 per cent year-on-year growth in iron ore output, which reached an all-time high of 40.02 MT.
Chrome ore production also saw substantial growth, increasing by 25.19 per cent to 1.69 MT, while bauxite output contributed 2.83 MT and limestone added 0.24 MT. Total mineral dispatches for the year reached 42.5 MT.
OMC attributed its record-breaking results to enhanced operational efficiencies, improved inter-departmental coordination, and the effective deployment of technology. The corporation continues to prioritize scientific and sustainable mining practices, including environmental mitigation measures and CSR interventions in local communities.
Furthermore, OMC recently signed a pact with IIT-ISM Dhanbad - TEXMiN Foundation to foster capacity building, research, and innovation in mining practices.
