NY Energy Rebates: Your Checks Are Coming!

Single filers earning under $150,000 will receive $100, while joint filers with incomes between $150,000 and $300,000 will receive $150. The highest rebate of $200 is designated for joint filers with incomes under $150,000.
To qualify, residents must have filed a timely New York State Resident Income Tax Return for Tax Year 2024, been a full-time resident, met income thresholds, and not been claimed as a dependent. Governor Hochul emphasized that this program directly addresses the financial strain many families face due to rising utility bills and gas prices.
New York's high energy costs are exacerbated by factors such as costly grid upgrades and increased demand from data centers. Residents currently pay the third-highest residential electricity prices in the nation, significantly above the national average, with prices increasing by 12% over the past year.
