20 Nov
Summary
- Nuvei merchants can now process transactions using the Wero digital wallet.
- Wero enables instant account-to-account payments across Europe.
- The integration aims to reduce processing costs and speed up settlements.

Nuvei has announced that its eCommerce merchants are now processing transactions via Wero, the digital wallet developed by the European Payments Initiative (EPI). This rollout integrates Wero's capabilities into Nuvei's merchant network, facilitating instant account-to-account payments across Europe. Wero leverages SEPA Instant Credit Transfer protocols, allowing for secure and rapid payments directly from consumers' bank accounts.
This development offers significant advantages for merchants by expanding the payment options available at checkout. It also promises to minimize processing expenses and accelerate settlement times, which can lead to improved conversion rates and enhanced cash flow. Nuvei's own testing in early 2025 preceded this live merchant transaction capability, positioning them as an early adopter of the technology.
Online campervan rental platform CamperDays is a notable early adopter, now accepting Wero payments through Nuvei. This move aligns with Nuvei's strategy to broaden its alternative payment method portfolio, enabling merchants to provide localized payment experiences through a single integration. EPI's collaboration with Nuvei aims to bolster a pan-European payment solution and strengthen the continent's financial sovereignty.
