Empty cylinders, endless queues: Gas crisis hits Noida

Residents of Harola village in Noida experienced significant disruption in obtaining domestic LPG cylinders, with many queuing for extended periods. Some individuals reported waiting since the early hours of the morning for their booked cylinders.

The local gas agency cited technical issues, including "server problems" and a "down computer link," as the primary reasons for the delays. This contradicted official government assurances of timely cylinder delivery for online bookings.

Despite the ongoing issues, an agency official stated on Wednesday that the situation was improving. They attributed the crowding to individuals delaying Know Your Customer (KYC) updates, now rushing to complete them fearing loss of their gas connections.

Many affected residents, like Gulabi Devi and Jyoti, highlighted the severe impact on their daily lives, including the inability to cook meals and the financial strain of buying food from outside.
