Iron Ore Sales Soar 18% in December

Iron ore sales for December experienced a robust increase, climbing to 4.64 million tonnes (MT) from 3.91 MT recorded in the same period last year. Chhattisgarh emerged as a significant contributor, accounting for 3.21 MT of these sales, while Karnataka added 1.43 MT.
State-run mining giant NMDC Ltd reported a substantial 14.7% rise in its December production, with output reaching 5.40 MT compared to 4.71 MT in the prior year. This impressive production figure included 1.52 MT from its Karnataka operations and 3.88 MT from Chhattisgarh.
Looking at the broader performance, NMDC's production for the initial nine months of the fiscal year reached 36.89 MT, a notable increase from 30.77 MT in the corresponding period of the previous year. Sales during this nine-month period also grew to 34.92 MT from 31.8 MT, reflecting sustained demand.
