This accolade also recognized the Leaf as the top compact car, highlighting its combination of space, practicality, and efficient, smooth driving. The jurors specifically commended its intuitive electric driving experience, noting its maturity and intelligent approach to electrification.
Organizers emphasized that the selections were based on cars meeting the "real, everyday needs" of all drivers. This approach ensures that the awards reflect practical utility rather than catering to narrow preferences. Other category winners announced included the Skoda Elroq for best compact SUV, the Mercedes-Benz CLA for best large car, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 for best large SUV, and the Toyota 4Runner for best 4x4.
