East Huntingdon farmer Greg Forejt Jr. is breathing new life into a beloved local market that closed last year. Forejt purchased the former Oakford Park Fruit Market near Jeannette in March 2026 and is undertaking renovations to reopen it in early May 2026.
Forejt envisions the market as a central hub for all Pennsylvania-made food products. The revamped space will feature refrigerated coolers for meat, milk, and dairy, complementing the fresh produce, baked goods, and meats from his own Windy Heights Farm. He plans to source dairy from other local farms.
Forejt, who inherited his family's expansive farm, hopes to recapture the customer loyalty the previous market enjoyed. His goal is to provide accessible, fresh food options to residents of Jeannette and surrounding areas, celebrating local agriculture and producers.
