A crucial new bridge has officially opened to traffic on Scotland's renowned North Coast 500 tourist route. Located on the A836 near Bettyhill in Sutherland, the Naver Bridge represents a modern replacement for an aging single-track wrought iron girder crossing that was originally constructed in the 1880s.
Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd undertook the construction of the new bridge on behalf of Highland Council. Following the successful opening, efforts have commenced on the demolition of the old bridge. This phase of the project is anticipated to be completed by the end of March.
