A new free, ad-supported streaming channel dedicated to live games, original series, and specials will debut on Tuesday, March 24. This platform aims to offer content without subscription fees, addressing consumer fatigue with rising prices and multiple paywalls. It will focus on valuable commodities like live sports, trusted news, and original entertainment.
State Farm has signed on as a foundational advertising partner, having previously supported the acquisition of WNBA and NWSL game rights for broadcast. The company expressed pride in championing women's sports and sees it as both a righteous and beneficial business investment.
The new channel will deliver more than 100 hours of live programming, with further announcements expected. Content will include women's professional volleyball and ice hockey, as well as acquired podcasts like Kevin Hart's "Cold as Balls." Original programs hosted by Suzy Kolber and Sanya Richards-Ross are also planned.
In addition to the new channel, other Scripps properties will introduce new programming. Bounce will premiere "The Silver Fox Squad," an unscripted series, while Grit will add original programming for the first time in its history. Details for Grit's new content will be released soon.
