Dayton Soars to Myrtle Beach with New Allegiant Flights

Dayton International Airport has commenced new nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, operated by Allegiant Air. This twice-weekly seasonal route, running from May through September, aims to enhance travel options for residents.

The inaugural flight departed fully booked with 190 passengers, highlighting strong demand for this leisure destination. This expansion signifies Allegiant Air's increasing presence at Dayton International Airport, following a 6% operational growth in the previous year.

Airport officials are optimistic that this new route will contribute to passenger volume increases and provide more choices for travelers. "We're excited about the growth here at Dayton International Airport," stated Gil Turner, Director of Aviation. "We're going to add more capacity here at Dayton, more options for passengers to fly out of Dayton International Airport."

Concurrent with the new flight service, Dayton International Airport is undergoing terminal updates to improve the passenger experience. Renovations include new concessions such as Warp Wing and Buckeye Pie, an additional Dunkin', and remodeled restrooms, enhancing dining and amenity options for travelers.
