Madhya Pradesh West Discom has successfully distributed Rs 543 crore in subsidies through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to consumers across 15 districts of Malwa-Nimar. The company's managing director highlighted daily progress reviews to ensure effective scheme implementation.
Indore has emerged as the frontrunner in solar adoption, with nearly 39,000 consumers installing rooftop solar plants, followed by Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, and Dewas. Including other schemes, the discom has installed solar plants at approximately 97,500 locations, contributing to a total installed rooftop solar capacity of nearly 550 MW.
Furthermore, the V Connect app, introduced by Madhya Pradesh West Discom to combat electricity theft and irregularities, has received 424 reports. This has resulted in 366 official inspection records ('panchnamas') and an assessed amount nearing Rs 82 lakh. The app rewards informants with DBT incentives ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 500 for verified reports of power theft.
