Summary
- Morocco aims for $5 billion in aerospace exports within three years.
- The sector is expanding to complex systems like engine assembly.
- New drone manufacturing partnerships aim for deep-strike capabilities.

Morocco's aerospace industry is poised for substantial expansion, with projections indicating annual exports could reach $5 billion within three years, a significant increase from last year's $3 billion. This growth is driven by attracting new suppliers capable of manufacturing high-value parts and more complex aerospace systems.
The sector, which currently employs around 25,000 people across 160 companies, aims to enhance local value addition. Future production will include engine and landing gear assembly, moving beyond individual components.
In parallel, Morocco is actively pursuing a foothold in the drone industry. This initiative is seen as a natural progression of its established aircraft manufacturing capabilities. Expertise in materials, assembly, and engineering will be leveraged for drone production.
Support for this push was evident at the Marrakech Air Show, where a memorandum of understanding was signed to manufacture Moroccan autonomous drones designed for deep-strike missions. This includes developing and producing key technologies locally.
