In November 2025, the Montenegrin government announced plans to open an embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by the beginning of 2026. This decision was made following a recent official visit by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to the Kingdom, where he held successful talks with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the visit, the two leaders discussed opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between Montenegro and Saudi Arabia, founded on long-standing friendship and mutual respect. The opening of Montenegro's embassy in Riyadh was a key outcome of these discussions.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Prime Minister Spajić to present Montenegro's potential to the Saudi business community and investors, as well as to discuss potential cooperation with leading companies in the Kingdom's dynamic and rapidly growing market.
In a letter to the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Spajić expressed gratitude for the exceptional hospitality and conveyed his admiration for Saudi Arabia's comprehensive development and transformation, emphasizing that the Kingdom's vision of growth, innovation, and sustainability serves as an inspiration to many countries.
