- Espeso's 15-year tenure included launching The Mediapro Studio USA.

Laura Fernández Espeso has departed from her role as General Director at the Spanish production giant Mediapro, less than a year after her promotion. Her exit, by mutual agreement, is part of a significant management restructure. Incoming changes, effective January 1, 2026, will see Sergio Oslé, former Movistar Plus+ chief, appointed as President, with Carlos Nuñez taking over as CEO.
Espeso's departure follows that of Mediapro co-founders Tatxo Benet and Jaume Roures. Despite her recent role, Espeso boasts over 15 years of experience within Mediapro and its predecessor companies, having risen through various directorial positions since 2009. Her leadership contributed to notable productions like the HBO Max thriller series 'The Head.'
During her tenure, Espeso also played a key role in launching The Mediapro Studio USA, a unit that has already secured projects with prominent figures like John Turturro and Melissa Leo. Additionally, Mediapro expanded its global footprint with a new production facility in Yonkers, New York, in November.
