Maruti Suzuki, the nation's leading car manufacturer, has committed an investment of Rs 10,189 crore to establish a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat. This significant capital infusion will fund the first assembly line at their fifth production site located in the Khoraj Industrial Estate.
The initial phase of this plant is anticipated to commence operations by 2029, provided market conditions are favorable. This phase is designed with an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles. The investment also covers common infrastructure intended for future expansion phases.
This new capital expenditure is in addition to the Rs 4,960 crore already earmarked by Maruti Suzuki for land acquisition at the same industrial estate. The company currently possesses the capability to manufacture 2.4 million vehicles per year.
