Mahindra has officially introduced the updated three-door Thar in India on September 22. This latest iteration sees significant enhancements to its design, cabin, and features, arriving less than a year after its previous update.
The exterior receives notable styling tweaks, including redesigned projector LED headlamps with distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights and a new honeycomb grille pattern. The front bumper and alloy wheels also sport a fresh look.
Inside, the Thar's dashboard layout remains familiar, but with premium touches like new trim materials and leatherette seat upholstery. Enhanced features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration, a digital instrument cluster, and a 360-degree camera.
Mechanically, the Thar retains its existing engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox for select engines.
The pricing for the updated Mahindra Thar is anticipated to be between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha.
