Analyst Slams Lululemon's Accessory Push
30 Jan
Summary
- Lululemon is now selling heart-shaped charms and clips.
- An analyst believes the move is too late for a past trend.
- The company is shifting focus from technical workout gear.

Lululemon has recently begun offering a variety of accessories, including heart-shaped charms, alligator clips, and keychains, to supplement its established lines of yogawear and athleisure apparel.
This strategic expansion into smaller, trend-driven items has drawn criticism from at least one financial analyst. Laurent Vasilescu of BNP Paribas characterized the initiative as a belated attempt to capitalize on a craze that peaked last year.
In a note titled "Breaking My Heart," Vasilescu suggested that Lululemon's foray into these accessories came too late to be effective and, more critically, diverts attention from the company's primary strength: its technical workout gear.
