L&T Boosts Data Center Capacity, Ventures into Semiconductors

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) is set to dramatically increase its data center infrastructure, planning to commission an additional 18 MW by the close of the current fiscal year. This will bring their total operational data center capacity to 32 MW, supported by a capital expenditure of approximately Rs 1,000 crore.
In parallel, L&T is making strategic moves in the semiconductor industry, focusing on the development of design-led chips. The company is actively engaging with various customers in this segment, with expenditures largely managed through the profit and loss account.
The company is also advancing its capabilities in the electrolyzer business. L&T has successfully developed a fully indigenous 4 MW stack and is currently working on enhancing it to an 8-10 MW capacity, with expectations of securing significant orders in the near future.
