Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), a subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd., has entered into a significant strategic partnership with the American military vehicle manufacturer, AM General. The agreement was formalized at the Eurosatory defence exposition held in Paris.
This alliance is geared towards developing and supplying 155mm mounted artillery gun platforms for international military clients. A primary focus is on mobile systems capable of operating effectively across varied terrains and environmental conditions.
AM General has submitted a proposal for the US Army's Mobile Tactical Cannon (MTC) program, featuring KSSL's Mounted Artillery Gun (MArG) platform. This system boasts a 52-calibre 155mm cannon with advanced features like recoil mitigation and an automated load-assist mechanism.
The partnership intends to broaden the distribution of these mobile artillery systems in global markets, addressing the growing demand from allied and partner nations. Delivery of the MTC solution is anticipated in 2027, contingent on selection.
