Kia India has set an aggressive target of 410,000 domestic vehicle sales by the year 2030, signaling a significant push for accelerated growth.
This expansion strategy includes the introduction of ten new models by 2030, with a strong emphasis on sustainable mobility as eight of these will incorporate electrified powertrains, encompassing electric vehicles, strong hybrids, and CNG options.
To support this vision, Kia India recently launched the Sorento, a premium three-row SUV available with either a 2.2-liter diesel or a 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid powertrain. While the diesel engine will be imported, the hybrid powertrain is slated for local production starting next year.
The company's existing manufacturing capacity of 430,000 units annually in India is deemed sufficient for its 2030 domestic sales goal, though capacity utilization and export growth remain key considerations for future planning.
Kia anticipates continued double-digit growth, mirroring its performance in recent years, and aims to leverage exports as an additional avenue for utilizing its production capacity.
