KUFOS & Mas Sports Launch Fish Farming Hub

The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) has launched a significant Public-Private Partnership with Mas Sports and Leisure Private Limited. This collaboration aims to enhance fish farming and the development of value-added fishery products. The agreement focuses on blending scientific knowledge with industry expertise to foster innovation and sustainable practices within Kerala's fisheries sector.

Key developments under this five-year MoU include establishing fish farming facilities in Edayar and Kakkarnad, Ernakulam district. The partnership will also concentrate on fish processing, value addition, and marketing strategies. Moreover, it will create valuable learning experiences for KUFOS students through training and internships, providing hands-on exposure to the industry.

This initiative envisions a comprehensive campus environment integrating sports, cultural activities, and education with agriculture and fisheries. It seeks to train thousands of young people in various sports while providing food from campus produce. The project also aims to create substantial employment opportunities, supporting the region's social and economic growth through sustainable aquaculture.
