Keighley Bingo Hall's Future: Shops, Homes, Restaurant Planned
24 Apr
Summary
- Vacant Keighley bingo hall to be redeveloped into shops, apartments, and a restaurant.
- The site has suffered arson and housed a cannabis farm since closing in 2023.
- Proposals will be discussed by councillors at a meeting in July.

The former Buzz Bingo building in Keighley, vacant since 2023, is slated for a significant redevelopment. Proposals submitted to Bradford Council aim to convert the Alice Street property into eight shops, 34 apartments, and a restaurant. This transformation is intended to address the building's deteriorating condition and associated public safety hazards.
The structure, originally a cinema built in 1938, has experienced vandalism, fly-tipping, an arson attack, and was recently discovered to be hosting a 1,000-plant cannabis farm. Despite previous offers, including for a health hub, there has been minimal interest in the derelict site. Councillors are scheduled to review the redevelopment plans in July, with the developer anticipating the creation of 21 town centre jobs if approved.
