This initiative aims to provide dignity and security, offering a better quality of life for workers and their families. Eligibility requires an annual household income of up to Rs 3 lakh and no existing pucca house nationwide. Each unit will feature a carpet area of 30 to 45 sq mt, comprising at least two rooms, a kitchen, and a toilet.
The project details include an estimated cost of Rs 5.5 lakh per flat, offering a 485 sq ft carpet area. Municipalities in North 24 Parganas are identifying suitable land, while special camps will be organized in Hooghly to assist workers with applications. Coordination efforts involve local urban bodies, trade unions, and mill managements.
