JSW Holdings, the investment arm of the JSW group, is valued at approximately 54% of its JSW Steel stake alone, with other holdings and its loan book included for free. The company holds 7.42% of JSW Steel, worth around Rs 23,150 crore as of September 2026, while JSW Holdings' market capitalization was Rs 12,523 crore on the same day. Its shareholders' funds stood at Rs 31,980 crore at the end of FY26, trading at 0.39 times book value with zero debt.
Meanwhile, Nalwa Sons Investments, a non-banking finance company, holds approximately 1.86% of JSW Steel, valued at about Rs 5,800 crore, which is more than double its market cap of Rs 2,840 crore. With Rs 15,170 crore in shareholders' funds at the end of FY26, it trades at 0.19 times book value and is effectively debt-free. Nalwa Sons has a slower growth rate compared to JSW Holdings.
Both companies experienced a surge in value due to SEBI's special call auction framework but have since seen significant corrections. JSW Holdings dropped 59% from its April 2025 peak, while Nalwa Sons fell 37% from its November 2024 high. Neither company has paid a dividend in the last twelve years, limiting minority shareholder access to cash generated by their holdings.
JSW Holdings is expanding its role as a group lender, with shareholder approval to lend up to Rs 2,000 crore and pledge over half of its JSW Steel shares as security for group loans. Nalwa Sons also lends to group companies. Investors are advised to monitor dividend policy changes, the utilization of lending approvals, and the impact of future call auction windows.
