12 Dec
Summary
- JSW Energy's arm signed a 25-year PPA for 400 MW power supply.
- The agreement starts April 1, 2026, with a tariff of ₹5.78 per kWh.
- This deal reduces JSW Energy's open capacity to 5%, enhancing stability.

JSW Energy (Utkal) Ltd, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has entered into a crucial Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with electricity distribution companies in Karnataka. This agreement, effective from April 1, 2026, will supply 400 MW of power for a substantial 25-year tenure at a fixed tariff of ₹5.78 per kWh.
This new PPA significantly strengthens JSW Energy's financial outlook by decreasing its open generation capacity to just 5% of its operational capacity. This strategic move enhances the company's long-term revenue visibility and diversifies its generation portfolio, reducing overall risk.
The company's total secured generation capacity now reaches 30.5 GW, with ongoing construction of 12.4 GW and a development pipeline of 4.6 GW. JSW Energy remains committed to its ambitious goals of achieving 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh energy storage by FY 2030, while also working towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
