JPMorgan Chase Slashes 244 Texas Jobs

JPMorgan Chase has announced significant job reductions at its extensive Plano, Texas facility, one of its largest operational hubs outside of New York. A total of 244 positions are being eliminated as the bank concludes a call-center function integral to its Consumer & Community Banking division.

The company confirmed these layoffs are part of a localized operational adjustment rather than a broader withdrawal from the region. The affected roles are heavily concentrated in areas related to fraud detection, a notable area given the industry's increased investment in technology for risk management and customer protection.

Employees received notification of these cuts on June 23, with a 60-day notice period preceding the first expected terminations on August 21, 2026. These layoffs represent approximately 2% of the campus's 12,500 employees. Eligible workers will benefit from the bank's severance pay plan, relocation assistance, and outplacement services.
