Jio Platforms, a Reliance Industries subsidiary, has reported a strong financial performance for the December quarter of FY26. The company's net profit saw an 11.2% year-on-year increase, reaching ₹7,629 crore. This positive trend was largely attributed to a sequential rise in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), which improved to ₹213.7, coupled with a notable uptick in data consumption and customer engagement.
The company's telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm, experienced a significant boost from its 5G services, with its 5G subscriber base growing to 253 million users by the end of the quarter. This surge in 5G adoption now represents 65% of the total 5G users nationwide, with 5G traffic accounting for 53% of the total wireless traffic on Jio's network. This expansion has also driven per capita data usage to 40.7 GB per month.
Akash Ambani highlighted Jio's extensive subscriber base and distribution network as key assets for Reliance Intelligence's AI initiatives, aiming to empower citizens and enterprises with AI tools. The company continues to expand its reach through attractive propositions in mobility and broadband, demonstrating sustained value creation for its stakeholders through synergistic connectivity and media platforms.
