In a strategic move, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has partnered with Google LLC to provide 18 months of free access to Google's premium AI service, Gemini Pro, for eligible Jio subscribers. The initiative, called 'Google AI Pro - Powered by Jio', is aimed at bringing advanced AI capabilities to India's 5G generation.
Under the agreement, users of Jio's 5G Unlimited plans, both prepaid and postpaid, who are between 18-25 years old, will be able to claim this free access. The 18-month complimentary period begins once the subscriber activates the offer through the MyJio app. However, the user must remain on an eligible Unlimited 5G plan to continue enjoying the benefits.
The free bundle reportedly includes Gemini Pro's AI-powered chat functionality, as well as advanced video and image generation tools, such as Nano Banana. Additionally, subscribers will receive 2 TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.
