Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) announced an 11 percent increase in its net profit for the quarter ending September 2026, with profit after tax reaching ₹898 crore. This performance marks a resilient recovery from earlier operational disruptions. The company's revenue also saw an 18 percent rise, totaling ₹12,874 crore, driven by higher sales volumes and robust export growth.
Domestic demand remained strong, supported by economic growth and an increasing focus on value-added products in segments like automotive. However, JSL noted a substantial rise in stainless steel flat product imports from China, significantly exceeding previous year's averages. This surge in imports has been a key concern since April 2026.
To counter import pressures and capitalize on global opportunities, JSL's exports surged by 36 percent year-on-year. The company is strategically expanding into new markets like South Korea and Brazil. Internally, JSL's board approved the amalgamation of several subsidiaries to streamline operations and reduce costs.
Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal emphasized sustained sales volumes through domestic market catering and new export initiatives. The company, with an annual melt capacity of 4.2 million tonnes, operates facilities in India, Spain, and Indonesia, aiming for improved product mix and market outreach.
