Jersey has confirmed its commitment to join a new pan-island working group dedicated to improving ferry services. This initiative seeks to enhance travel between the Channel Islands and France, with services expected to see improvements from 2026 onwards. The group represents a significant step towards better inter-island connectivity.
The collaborative body will convene ferry operators such as Brittany Ferries, Islands Unlimited, and Manche-Iles Express, alongside DFDS and representatives from the States of Jersey. This diverse representation ensures a comprehensive approach to addressing current service limitations.
Primary goals for the working group include the development of more efficient timetables. These improvements are specifically targeted to better support inter-island sporting events and associations, while also enhancing the general timing and availability of sailings for all passengers.
