Jersey Business Confidence High, Island Economy Outlook Grim
19 Jan
Summary
- Most Jersey business leaders feel positive about their own organizations' future.
- Only 17% expressed optimism about Jersey's wider economic prospects.
- A significant 63% anticipate a worsening economic situation for the island.

Business leaders in Jersey are expressing a dual sentiment regarding their future prospects. A recent survey conducted by the Institute of Directors (IoD) Jersey reveals that over half of the respondents feel confident about their individual organizations' performance in the coming year.
This positive internal outlook, however, does not extend to the island's broader economic landscape. The same poll indicates a starkly different view on Jersey's economy, with only 17% of business leaders feeling optimistic. A considerable majority, 63%, anticipate a worsening economic situation.
The survey, which was carried out between November 20 and December 11, highlights a significant disconnect between personal business confidence and broader economic expectations. The Government of Jersey has been contacted for comment on these findings.
