Thousands of striking workers at the JBS meatpacking plant in Greeley are slated to return to work without a new agreement. United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7 formally notified JBS of its decision to end the strike and offered employees an unconditional return starting Tuesday. The company stated its original offer, which includes wage hikes and benefits, remains on the table.
The labor action, which began on March 16 and involved approximately 3,800 employees, sought higher pay and safer working conditions. JBS officials had stated they were rerouting production to other facilities to maintain operations during the strike. UFCW Local 7 President Kim Cordova indicated that negotiations are set to resume this week, with workers remaining united in their fight for a contract that ensures livable wages and respect.
