- BLS E-Services facilitated over ₹1.11 lakh crore GTV in FY26.

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), now in its twelfth year, is catalyzing a significant shift in rural banking. Financial services are expanding beyond simple account openings and cash withdrawals to include credit, insurance, and pension products, largely facilitated through Business Correspondent (BC) networks.
BLS E-Services, a major BC player, reported a Gross Transaction Value of over ₹1,11,000 crore and more than 130 million transactions in FY26. This growth is supported by their network of over 46,800 active BC touchpoints, many serving smaller towns and villages.
Nationally, PMJDY has reached approximately 58.63 crore beneficiaries, with substantial deposits totaling over ₹3.08 lakh crore. Government schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana have also seen significant loan sanctions. This expansion is vital for rural financial inclusion.
Business Correspondents are proving crucial in this evolving landscape. With 17.36 lakh BCs operational as of July 17, 2026, they extend banking access to areas where traditional branches are less viable. This evolving role of BCs, from basic transactions to facilitating credit and insurance, marks the next phase of financial inclusion in India.
