- DeepTech attracted $11.4 billion in VC funding from 2015-2026.
The Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) and Headstart Network Foundation have formed a strategic alliance to enhance India's DeepTech entrepreneurship landscape. This partnership will see IVCA co-host the Bharat Pitchathon 2026 and introduce the IVCA Bharat DeepTech Startups: National Pulse initiative.
The National Pulse is designed as a founder-led intelligence effort to capture diverse experiences and challenges within India's burgeoning DeepTech sector. This initiative will extend beyond major metropolitan hubs to include insights from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, aiming for a more representative understanding of innovation across the nation.
This collaboration comes as India's DeepTech ecosystem, spanning areas like AI, semiconductors, and biotech, reaches a critical scaling phase. Between 2015 and 2026 year-to-date, Indian DeepTech has attracted $11.4 billion in venture capital across 957 deals, with 2025 seeing the highest annual funding at $2.96 billion.
The National Pulse will leverage Headstart's extensive network across over 30 cities and IVCA's engagement with private capital, industry, and government. The goal is to create a robust evidence base on who is building DeepTech, where innovation is emerging, and what founders require to scale, thereby informing investors, policymakers, and ecosystem institutions.
