Ityhaas Indian Culinary Story, meaning 'history,' has launched its second Rochester location at 3809 Marketplace Drive NW. This sit-down restaurant, which opened in early June, offers seating for 60 patrons and boasts an extensive menu featuring 60 entrees, including vegetarian options and various naan. Customer favorites like chicken tikka masala are highlighted, alongside tandoori dishes and Indo-Chinese options.
Owned by Amar and Jaz Mand, who have extensive experience in the restaurant industry, Ityhaas aims to introduce traditional Northern Indian flavors. The restaurant offers customizable spice levels and features dishes enriched with paneer and ghee. A lunch buffet is available weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The name 'Ityhaas' is a poignant tribute to the Mands' twin daughter who did not survive after being born prematurely in 2018.
Additionally, the Mands are set to open Curry Company, a new take-out restaurant, on Second Street Southwest in the upcoming weeks. This expansion signifies the growing popularity of Indian cuisine, which Amar Mand notes has seen increased interest since the pandemic. Ityhaas is open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.
