Italian Indie Studio I Wonder Pictures Expands with AI-Powered Content Creation

In a significant move for the Italian entertainment industry, I Wonder Pictures, a leading independent distribution company, is expanding its operations and introducing AI-powered content creation. As part of this expansion, Roberto Pisoni, a senior director at Sky Italy, has stepped down from his role at the Comcast-owned pay-TV service to join I Wonder Pictures as the VP of AI innovation, content, and new media development.

Pisoni's appointment is part of I Wonder Pictures' founder and CEO Andrea Romeo's plan to bolster the company's organizational structure and drive growth in production, distribution, and the development of new narrative models. Pisoni will be responsible for coordinating the launch of a new unit called Top Contents and leading the curation of the company's streaming platforms, Iwonderfull and Top Doc.

Notably, I Wonder Pictures has also secured the U.S. theatrical release of the truffle-hunting movie 'Trifole,' a rare breakthrough for Italian independent cinema. This move underscores the company's ambition to expand its reach beyond the domestic market.

Under Pisoni's leadership, I Wonder Pictures aims to integrate AI into its creative and production processes, exploring new narrative and productive models that combine cinema, documentary filmmaking, and emerging media formats.
