IPO Rush: 34 Firms Race End-Sept Deadline
11 Aug
Summary
- 34 companies must launch IPOs by September 30 or face new approvals.
- Companies aim to raise approximately ₹45,000 crore collectively.
- Sebi offered a one-time extension due to market volatility.

As of August 11, 2026, 34 companies are in a race against time to launch their Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) before the September 30 deadline. These firms collectively aim to raise approximately ₹45,000 crore. Missing this deadline will necessitate initiating a new, time-consuming regulatory approval process.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had granted a special one-time relaxation for companies whose observation letters were set to expire between April 1 and September 30, 2026. This extension was primarily to help issuers manage the volatile market conditions influenced by geopolitical events and rising oil prices.
Industry experts note that while the window is tight with only 35 working days remaining, market conditions have improved with retreating oil prices and renewed foreign investment interest. However, some companies have opted to reduce issue sizes, lower valuations, or postpone their IPOs entirely due to investor pushback on valuations, as seen with Zepto.
Beyond the current 34 companies, an additional 133 firms with Sebi approval are poised to raise over ₹2.22 lakh crore through IPOs by the end of July 2027, indicating a robust pipeline for future fundraising activities.
