Indonesia: Rare Earth Export Clarity Needed

Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman highlighted these disruptions after a coordination meeting involving various government bodies, law enforcement, and industry representatives.
The meeting aimed to address the bottlenecks caused by this regulatory gap. Dudung emphasized that exports containing rare earth elements as by-products are being hindered. He also stated that authorities, including the military, should refrain from obstructing these shipments while new rules are pending.
Under current Indonesian regulations, rare earth elements are prioritized for domestic use. President Prabowo Subianto has established a special agency dedicated to overseeing the development and utilization of these resources.
