22 Jan
Summary
- IndiGo ordered to detail refund steps for cancelled flights.
- A Rs 22.2 crore penalty was imposed on IndiGo by DGCA.
- Passengers may receive compensation up to Rs 10,000.

The Delhi High Court has directed IndiGo to file an affidavit within two weeks, outlining its actions for refunding cancelled tickets and compensating passengers impacted by operational disruptions in early December. The court has scheduled the next hearing for February 25.
During the proceedings, IndiGo's counsel acknowledged that some compensation payments are still being processed. The court also accepted an inquiry report from the Union government and DGCA regarding operational lapses that affected India's aviation network.
Following the investigation into IndiGo's issues with new flight duty time limitation (FDTL) norms, a penalty of Rs 22.2 crore was imposed on the airline. IndiGo's senior officials received warnings, and one executive was removed from their position. The DGCA issued regulatory directions, requiring IndiGo to submit a Rs 50-crore bank guarantee for compliance with FDTL norms.
