Earlier this month, IndiGo cancelled roughly 4,500 flights, primarily attributed to inadequate pilot roster planning. This led to tens of thousands of passengers being stranded, marking one of the most significant aviation disruptions in India. The cancellations caused fares to surge, prompting temporary government price caps.
Despite the challenges, IndiGo's CEO, Pieter Elbers, communicated to employees that the airline's operations have stabilized. He indicated that the worst of the disruption has passed and the company is now focused on enhancing resilience and reviewing the root causes of the issue.
