Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, announced the launch of the Rs 50 NCMC Bharat Yatra Card, a new nationwide transit payment card designed to simplify urban commuting. This RuPay-powered card, enabled by Pine Labs, allows for instant UPI top-ups and eliminates the need for separate transport cards in different cities. Deliveries have begun in the National Capital Region, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.
The card features a zero-KYC activation process, making it highly accessible for Indian commuters. It supports tap-and-pay contactless transactions across all interoperable NCMC-enabled cities for metro and bus rides. The design showcases iconic Indian landmarks, adding a cultural touch.
The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) system is a government-backed initiative aiming to unify India's fragmented transit payments into a single nationwide network. It provides tap-and-pay access, RuPay support for retail and transit, and real-time UPI top-ups, allowing seamless travel across multiple cities with one card.
