India Seals Rs 5,083 Cr Deals for Advanced Helicopters, Missiles

The Indian Defence Ministry has finalized significant procurement contracts totaling Rs 5,083 crore. These agreements are set to bolster both the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Navy.
The first contract, valued at Rs 2,901 crore, is with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd for six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH Mk-III). These helicopters, equipped with advanced features, are designated for the Indian Coast Guard to enhance its maritime security missions, including protecting offshore installations and marine environments.
A separate contract, worth Rs 2,182 crore, has been signed with Russia's JSC Rosoboronexport for surface-to-air vertical launch Shtil missiles. These missiles are intended to significantly strengthen the air defence capabilities of frontline Indian Navy warships, providing a critical layered defence against aerial threats.
