The global tanker market's strain is evident as vessels are rerouted or delayed, reducing availability and increasing freight costs. Despite these challenges, refiners continue to source from the Gulf to avoid higher import expenses from regions like the US and South America. Russia remains India's primary crude supplier, followed by the UAE and Venezuela.
