Indian Railways Hiring Blitz: 1.2 Lakh Jobs Announced!

Indian Railways has initiated a significant recruitment drive, announcing a total of 120,579 vacancies for the years 2024 and 2025. This extensive hiring effort aims to fill positions across numerous departments, reflecting the vast scale and operational needs of the railway network. The process is designed to adapt to technological shifts and safety requirements.

Over the last eleven years, Indian Railways has provided employment to more than 5.08 lakh individuals. The current recruitment cycle includes a wide array of roles, from Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians to Constables and Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). Computer-based tests and aptitude tests are being conducted with a strong focus on transparency and adherence to guidelines.

The railway ministry highlighted that the entire recruitment cycle, spanning multiple stages and involving large numbers of candidates, has proceeded without any reported incidents of paper leaks or malpractice. This transparency is a key achievement in managing such a large-scale hiring process. An annual recruitment calendar has also been introduced to provide aspirants with clearer timelines.
