Indian Enterprises Rapidly Adopt Generative AI, Shift from Pilots to Production

According to a recent EY-CII report, the Indian enterprise AI landscape has reached an inflection point as of November 2025. The report, titled 'Is India ready for Agentic AI? The AIdea of India: Outlook 2026', reveals that 47% of Indian enterprises now have multiple Generative AI (GenAI) use cases live, while 23% are in the pilot stage. This marks a decisive shift from experimentation to embedding AI into core business workflows to deliver measurable results.
The report also highlights strong confidence among Indian business leaders, with 76% believing that GenAI will have a significant business impact, and 63% feeling ready to leverage it effectively. However, despite this optimism, AI and ML investments remain modest, with over 95% of organizations allocating less than 20% of their IT budgets to these technologies.
