Indian Bank celebrated a significant FY25, achieving record profits and business growth. The public sector bank's net profit soared by 35%, crossing the ₹10,000 crore mark for the first time, while its global business surpassed ₹13 lakh crore.
Despite a tough economic climate with tight liquidity and deposit competition, the bank demonstrated balanced growth. Deposits increased by 7% to ₹7.37 lakh crore, and advances grew 10% to ₹5.88 lakh crore.
Asset quality saw substantial improvement, with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) dropping to 3.09% and net NPAs reaching a historic low of 0.19%. This success earned Indian Bank the FE Best Banks Awards 2024-25 for the Public Sector Bank category.
Strategic focus on the retail, agriculture, and MSME (RAM) segments, now representing nearly two-thirds of the loan book, contributed to higher yields. The bank is also strengthening its CASA franchise, improving recoveries, and expanding fee-based income through digital initiatives.
The positive momentum continues into FY26, with another record net profit reported. Indian Bank solidifies its position as a leading public sector lender, balancing scale, profitability, and prudent risk management.
