Indian stock markets, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), reopened for trading on March 4, 2026, defying the Holi festival. Trading operations proceeded as usual on both exchanges.
This resumption occurred after a closure on March 3. In the preceding session, the BSE Sensex concluded at 78,291, marking a 2.38% decrease. Similarly, the NSE closed at 24,162.10, a 2.97% dip from the previous trading day.
Looking ahead, the markets are scheduled for additional closures in March 2026 on the 26th and 31st for Ram Navami and Mahavir Jayanti.
